Dufferin County, which includes the municipalities of Shelburne, Orangeville, Grand Valley, East Garafraxa, Amaranth, Mono, Mulmur and Melancthon has a program to provide a down payment for your home purchase.
This new release of $28 million dollars was just announced this April, 2010.
To qualify:
- You must be renting
- Be at least 18 years old
- Have a family income not higher than $78,200
- Own assets valued no higher than $20,000
- Be able to qualify for financing through a financial institution
If you meet these qualifications, you may receive up to $10,000 for a 5% down payment on a home valued not higher than $298,322
You must apply and be accepted before the purchase can be made.
