MEGA QUARRY INFO              

 The Highland Group, Representing a Hedge Fund from Boston, has proposed a 2300 Acre quarry covering prime farmland in Melancthon Township, on Highway 124 between Shelburne and Collingwood.  This quarry will be deeper than Niagara Falls and cover a land mass one third the size of Toronto.

THIS IS WHERE HEADWATERS OF THE RIVERS CONVERGE AND WHERE WATER SUPPLIES MAY BE IMPACTED ALL THE WAY DOWNSTREAM!

On October 16th, 2011 100 famous chefs, including Jamie Kennedy & Michael Stadtlander along with many entertainers such as Jim Cuddy, Blue Rodeo, Sarah Harmer & The Barenaked Ladies converged on a muddy field near Honeywood for FOODSTOCK to raise awareness & money to fight the destructive quarry.  Over 28,000 people attended in the rain & wind to lend their support.
